Ask for another size

다른 사이즈 있어요? means “Do you have another size?” 다른 is another or different, and 사이즈 is size. If you know the size you want, you can say 작은 사이즈 (a smaller size) or 큰 사이즈 (a larger size). Clothing sizes may vary between brands, so trying an item on can still be useful.

Ask before trying an item on

이거 입어 봐도 돼요? asks “Can I try this on?” 입어 보다 means to try wearing something. For shoes, use 신어 보다; for glasses or a hat, 써 보다 is often used. Ask where the fitting room is with 탈의실이 어디예요? Store layouts and fitting-room rules vary, so follow staff guidance.

Request a bag or receipt

봉투 하나 주세요 means “One bag, please.” You can ask for a receipt with 영수증 주세요. The item 하나 counts one bag; before counters, 하나 changes to 한. You may also hear staff ask whether you need a bag or receipt, so these short phrases help you answer clearly.

Say how you want to pay

카드로 계산할게요 means “I will pay by card.” 카드로 means by card, and 계산할게요 is a polite way to say you will pay. Payment methods differ between stores. If a payment terminal shows an option you do not understand, ask staff instead of selecting at random.

Practise an easy store visit

Choose an item, ask whether another size is available, and ask if you can try it on. At checkout, request a bag if you need one and say how you will pay. Practise the polite phrases as complete lines first; later you can swap in colors, sizes, and product names.
